European Bank positive about metro project: Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation

LUCKNOW: On the second day of its visit, the delegation from renowned financial institution European Investment Bank (EIB) met chief secretary and officials from the environment department and UP Pollution Control Board. The delegation had a detailed meeting with the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) officials too on various technical aspects of the project.

LMRC said EIB is positive about metro project of the city and may consider loaning it. The team had come for pre-appraisal of metro project and had surveyed metro route and design of the project on Tuesday. On Wednesday, experts from EIB put forward their queries regarding tenders and utility transfers needed for the project.

They sought opinions from officials of environment and UP Pollution Control Board on various clearances required for construction. LMRC said that they were able to solve their queries and they were positive about the project. The team would submit its report to Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance on Thursday and would also share the details of loaning options.
