Mumbai: The laying of additional fifth and sixth ine railway tracks between Thane and Diva may not be completed before its deadline of December 2016 as Railways has failed to reclaim the encroached lands.
The project is being handled by Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC). Officials said that the land near the rail over bridge (ROB) near Mumbra station has been encroached upon. Reclaiming that land may push the deadline well into mid-2017.
