Howrah Division:'Fit India Freedom Run' in Eastern Railway
'FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN’ IN ER

Eastern Railway organizes ‘Fit India Freedom Run’ from 15 August to keep ourselves fit while maintaining social distancing. The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India has planned such new initiatives under the aegis of Fit India Movement.
The concept of such Run is that one can run/walk along a route of his/her choice, at a time that suits him/her. one can even take breaks during such run/walk. Basically, one runs his own race and times his own pace. To make the initiative successful, all ER employees & their family members have been encouraged to participate in the "Fit India Freedom Run" to make themselves fit by taking simple steps. Eminent sports persons are also joining in this initiatives over ER network.
In ‘Fit India Freedom Run’, organized in ER’s Howrah Division, eminent sports personalities like Mangal Singh Champia, Arjun Awardee Archer & Olympian, Hari Shankar Roy, former international athlete and National record holder in high jump, Biswajit Palit, Arjuna Awardee & Kabaddi Coach, Manabesh Chatterjee, Volleyball coach of Eastern Railway, Samiran Paul, Football coach of Eastern Railway, Manoj Bhattacharjee, former Cricket player, Debashish Roy, Volleyball Player, Mihir Bhar, former Athlete, Anupam Dutta, former Volleyball player and other former volleyball players like Chandan Tatowa, Papit Murmu and Sajal Sunny participated.
Similar initiatives for freedom run have also taken by other Divisions & Workshops of ER to spread the awareness for maintaining fitness of body & mind.
