COMMERCIAL SERVICES OF EAST-WEST METRO BEGINS
The commercial services in the Phase-I of East-West Metro from Salt Lake Sector V to Salt Lake Stadium commence o­n 14.02.2020 at 08.00 hrs. from Sector V Metro Station and it reached Salt Lake Stadium after 12 minutes.
salt Shri Satyaki Nath, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Metro Railway handed over the first token of the East-West Metro to Shri Rajiv Roy, the first commuter of this Metro in presence of other Metro officials. Shri Nath also presented a memento to him to mark this memorable occasion.  To commemorate this historic event, roses were given to the commuters of the 1st Metro.
  Passengers were very happy to take this first journey in East-West Metro and expressed their joy coupled with emotion to be part of this historic event.
Commercial Services: -Commercial Service in this section will commence from 14th February, 2020 (14.02.2020). At present, 74 services (37 UP + 37 DN) will run o­n Weekdays and Saturdays. However, 50 services (25 UP + 25 DN) will run o­n Sundays.
Time Schedule: - The first and the last service in this route will start at 08:00 hrs. and 20:00 hrs. respectively from both ends i.e. Salt Lake Sector-V and Salt Lake Stadium o­n Weekdays and Saturdays.
However, o­n Sundays, the first and the last service will commence at 12:00 hrs. and 20:00 hrs. from the both ends.
Ticketing System: - AFC-PC Gate, Smart Card and Smart Token as in the North-South Metro.

SPECIAL FEATURES FOR THE FIRST TIME
·Platform Screen Doors at all stations.
·Communication Based Train Control System (CBTC) is the latest state-of-the-art signalling system which will ensure the safe passage of trains and optimizes the line capacity.
·Toilets and designated seating arrangements for Divyang.
·Sockets for Mobile and Laptop chargers inside each coach.
·Ramps for emergency evacuation from all coaches.
·Emergency announcements from Operation Control Centre will be heard inside the coach.
SAFETY AND SECURITY MEASURES:
·CCTV cameras inside and outside the coaches for safety of passengers with remote real time monitoring from Operation Control Centre (OCC) as well as from the Motorman’s cab.
·One fire extinguisher is kept in each coach for use during any o­nboard fire emergency.
·Heat/smoke and toxicity detectors inside each coach as part of fire detection system.
·Integrated Station Management System has been provided with fire alert and emergency activation facilities.
·Baggage Scanners and Door Frame Metal Detectors at all stations.
·Security Monitoring Room o­n each platform.
