‘Refrain from lighting Camphor onboard trains’ - An Appeal to Sabarimala Passengers
Some of the Sabarimala bound passengers are in the practice of lighting Camphor during their travel to Sabarimala. These unsafe practices may result in fire mishap onboard trains.
Hence, passengers are requested to desist from lighting Camphor inside trains or at Station premises and co-operate with Railways in ensuring a Safe journey
As per Indian Railways Act of 1989, carrying inflammable objects like crackers, gas cylinder, acid, petrol, kerosene, camphor or lighting of any inflammable article during a train journey is a punishable offence and the offender is liable to be fined and/or punished with imprisonment up to three years.
