ISSUE OF SAND TRANSPORTATION IN TRAIN:
RAILWAY HAS NO ROLE IN ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF SAND
It has come to our notice from different media sources that Railway has involved in the illegal transportation of sand at Nirgundi Railway station yesterday.
But the fact is that Shri Manjeet Chawla of Kaityani Contractors Pvt. Ltd, a Cement Traders, has booked 59 Wagons (One Rake Goods Train) on 06.09.2017 and another 59 Wagons of sand on 07.09.2017 for transportation of sand from Nergundi to Phephana in Uttar Pradesh and deposited Rs. 52,500/- including GST of Rs.2,500/- vide DD No-690853 dated 04.06.2017 of IndusInd Bank and another deposit Rs. 52,500/- including GST of Rs.2,500/- vide DD No-6908536 dated 07.09.2017 of the same bank.
The consigner Manjeet Chawla, entered into trading agreement with his business partner Sri Aman Sethi who executed lease agreement with Tehasildar, Barang as per OMM rule-2016 for excavation of sand. Out of 59 Wagons of 1st Rake, only 4 Wagons were loaded on yesterday at Nergundi which has not yet been transported and lying at Nergundi Station.
Railway is a transportation organization with objective to carry consignment. If any person tender forwarding Note under section 64 of Indian Railway Act, Railway has to accept the same for transportation. No where sand as consignment has been banned/restricted for transportation by Rail under commercial rule.
