Shri Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, South Central Railway exuded confidence that the Cement Industry will respond positively to increase the share of Cement Traffic by rail on the Zone in the wake of withdrawal of busy season charges for rakes by the Railway Ministry recently. He was addressing a meeting of Cement Industry called today i.e., 10th May, 2016 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.
The General Manager highlighted the fact that the Railway Board has withdrawn busy season charges for the rakes transporting cement so as to provide greater comfort factor for the Cement Industry in general. Shri Ravindra Gupta, reminded the representatives of the Cement Industry that the withdrawal of busy season charges was an off shoot of their plea in the meetings earlier, which was brought to the notice of the Railway Board and positively considered. He sought the Cement Industry to come out with positive plans in response, so that the Cement traffic by rail shows a visible increase and assured of all co-operation from the Railways in this regard.
