Need for Improvement in Women Parity Ratio in Employment - General Manager, SCR

Shri Ravindra Gupta, General Manager, South Central Railway stressed upon the need to plan for improving women parity ratio in employment o­n the Railways. He was speaking as the Chief Guest at a meeting held o­n the occasion of International Women’s Day, organized  by South Central Railway Employees Sangh (SCRES) at Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad today i.e., 9thMarch, 2016.

The General Manager emphasized o­n providing conducive working environ for women employees, so that they do not feel any kind of discrimination and problem in discharging their duties. A positive working atmosphere particularly in the technical and skilled sector will encourage women to take up employment in more numbers, there by leading to a proper women parity ratio, he added. He opined that the Society as a whole does not treat women as an equal partner to men reflecting a biased attitude. Shri Ravindra Gupta, called for a positive and responsive attitude towards women, which will go a long way in ensuring a healthy society around.

Shri R.R. Prasad, Chief Personnel Officer, SCR; Dr. Usha K Madalli, Chief Medical Director, SCR, Shri Prabhakar Andrews, President, SCRES, Mrs Umanagendramani and other dignitaries participated.
