BSNL launches free Wi-Fi hotspots in Chennai

CHENNAI: BSNL has launched free Wi-Fi hotspots at a few places in Chennai -- Broadway (Flower Bazar) bus stand, KK Nagar RTO and taluk offices, Vandalur zoo and Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore -- and at the Shore Temple in Mamallapuram.

According to a release, "BSNL plans to cover many more locations in Chennai within a month or two. Depending on the number of users in a zone, their position and the type of surroundings, one can get up to 8MBPS download speed."

he Wi-Fi access, under the brand name, QFI, is free for the first 15 minutes for each mobile number in a fortnight. Following this, e-coupons can be purchased online , through QFI, for different durations, volumes and validity period.
