Railways to launch new double-decker service between Mumbai-Goa on Sunday
Konkan Railway and Central Railway lwil run a double-decker service between Kurla LTT and Madgoan in Goa from Sunday. This attempt comes more than a year after both railways had run the double-decker rake in September 2014 as Ganpati special and incurred heavy losses.
Railway minister will be flagging off the first run of the train from Madgaon on Sunday, December 6.
In a press statement, KRCL said that the AC Double Decker Express Train No. 11085 will have AC Chair Car Coaches and will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at about 5:30 am and will reach Madgaon at about 5:30 pm on the same day.
Similarly in Up Direction, Train No. 11086 will leave Madgaon on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at about 6 am and will reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at about 5:10 pm on the same day.
This train will halt at Thane, Panvel, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim and Karmali in both the directions.
