The programme is launched at Eastern Railway’s Headquarters by Shri R. K. Gupta, General Manager, Eastern Railway. Shri Gupta stressed the Eastern Railway’s commitment towards energy saving and announced participation of Eastern Railway in the DELP programme which will pave the way among the railway employee to conserve energy by use of LED bulbs in their houses.

Shri Gupta addressing on the occasion said that as a part of energy conservation and reduction of carbon emission, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India have instituted a Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP) and decided to distribute 7 watt LED bulb under this scheme through their nominated agency M/s Energy Efficiency Service Ltd.(EESL), which is a joint venture of central PSU of Ministry of Power.
