Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has given His MPLAD fund for KATHUA, UDHAMPUR, RAMNAGAR Stations.

During an interactive session with civil society representatives here to discuss utilisation of constituency development funds by elected representatives and other related issues,Dr,Jitendra Singh said "There is a lot much that an MP can exclusively do for the people of this constituency through fund available from MP=LAD as well as various centrally sponsored schemes. Also working in close collaboration with civil society members helps in identifying such areas where funds may not be available from other sources and MP can supplement the civil society efforts through this MP-LAD as well as other resources in his research".
The schemes available from Govt of india are sufficient for development but only require deeper study and proper application ,he said.

Singh observed that there are certain categories of expenditure for which MP-LAD can be spared"But not much is known about it".

For Example recently i managed to arrange latest model of artificial limbs of disabled youth in Reasi,he said.

He said the railway station of kathua, udhampur and Ramnagar are not known to be major railway stations and therefore, the Railway Ministry parameters may not be able to spare the same amount of funds for these stations as for some of other major stations.

He said people come from far off villages to these stations and wait for hours together for the train to arrive without any shelter to protect themselves from hot weather or rain.
This,he said ,prompted him to come forward and take up the responsibility of constructing shelters and benches at these stations.

Dr.Jitendra Singh said,he has already placed an amount of nearby Rs 35 lakhs at the disposal of Railway Department for building 30 stainless steel benches and 44 stainless steel platforms at kathua Railway Station,50 stainless steel benches and 4 stainless steel platform  at udhampur station, and 6 RCC benches and 2 stainless steel platform shelterd at the smaller railway station of Ramnagar Respectively.

If need be,he said, he will spare more amount from his MP-LAD to railway department for further upgrading of the facility at these railway stations
