RAIL YATRI UPABHOKTA PAKHWADA FROM 26.5.2015 TO 9.6.2015

CENTRAL RAILWAY – FIRST AND FOREMOST TOWARDS PASSENGER CONVENIENCE 

Rail Yatri Upabhokta Pakhwada is being observed from 26.5.2015 to 9.6.2015 all over Indian Railways.  Driven by Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Shri Suresh P Prabhu, the rail year of change to be marked with the Railways going to the people for the first time in its history.  

Central Railway also launching the fortnight (Pakhwada) which will feature public and media interactions with General Manager, Divisional Railway Managers of the 5 Divisions, intensive drives/campaigns o­n safety, cleanliness, ticket checking anti-tout etc. 

Shri Sunil Kumar Sood, General Manager, Central Railway launched the Pakhwada on Central Railway by distributing the T-shirts and Caps to railway staff at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai o­n 26.5.2015.  Shri Prabhat Sahai, MD, MRVC, Shri Vineet Kumar, Secretary to the General Manager, Shri Narendra A Patil, Chief Public Relations Officer were also present o­n the occasion.

100 COACHES IN 50 TRAINS o­n PERMANENT BASIS: 

As a first in the history of Indian Railways, CR has attached 100 coaches in 50 trains o­n permanent basis in various trains thereby increasing the accommodation of the trains considerably.  Never in the past has any railway attached 100 coaches permanently.  This has also resulted in increase of earnings to the tune of Rs.1.19 crore daily.

* 20 trains  47 coaches including 18 AC towards Howrah, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Puri, Sultanpur, Azamgarh

* 5 trains 14 coaches including 6 AC towards Agra, Amritsar, Habibganj, Haridwar

* 12 trains 16 coaches including 13 AC towards Nagpur, Aurangabad, Madgaon, Karmali,  Sawantwadi Road, Gondia, Kolhapur, Solapur, Pandharpur

* 8 trains 11coaches including 4 AC towards Kochuveli, Madurai, Secunderabad, Nizamabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Pune

* 5 trains 12 second class coaches towards Bhusaval, Katni, Baramati, Nizamabad, Pandharpur 

TATKAL SPECIAL TRAINS: 

Central Railway has the distinction of running the first ever fully Tatkal Special Trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Madgaon.  Now after the success of Tatkal specials, Central Railway has decided to change the classification of the following Premium specials, which are running on dynamic pricing basis to Tatkal Special trains for the benefit of passengers. Catering charges will also be not applicable in Tatkal Special Trains. The details are as under-

* 02020 Nagpur – Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai Tatkal Special on every Saturday from6.6.2015 to 27.6.2015 – Bookings open from 1.6.2015

* 02053 Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai – Patna   Tatkal Special on every Tuesday from9.6.2015 to 23.6.2015 – Bookings open from 4.6.2015

* 02047 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Gorakhpur     Tatkal Sepcial on every Thursday from 4.6.2015 to 25.6.2015 – Bookings open from 30.5.2015

* 02069 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Varanasi Tatkal Special on every Monday from 8.6.2015 to22.6.2015 – Bookings open from 3.6.2015

* 02057 Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai – Tirunelvelli Tatkal Special on Wednesday 3.6.2015 – Bookings open from 29.5.2015

* 02065 Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai – Ernakulam Tatkal Special on Sunday 7.6.2015 – Bookings open from 2.6.2015
