VIGILANCE DEPARTMENT OF NORTHERN RAILWAY NABS A TOUT PROCURING & SELLING E-TICKET IN A DECOY CHECK CONDUCTED AT NEW MODEL BASTI, FILMISTAN, DELHI TODAY (13.03.2015)
Stepping-up their drive to check the activity of unauthorized ticketing agencies and touts ahead of summer rush in the national capital area, the Vigilance team of Northern Railway along with Crime Branch/RPF Delhi made another prized catch today nabbing a tout near Filmistan, Delhi with 15 E-Tickets today (14.03.2015).
On source information, the investigating team in a Decoy Check conducted at M/S. Ayan Fashion Point, New Model Basti, near Filmistan, Delhi and nabbed the offender Sh Md Izrail owner of the agency holding 15 E- tickets issued on personal ID including a decoy e-ticket with a cash value of Rs. 28803/- .. All the tickets were issued for different dates and locations. The tout was handed over to RPF post under Section 143 of the Indian Railways Act 1989.
It may also be relevant to point that the Vigilance Team also apprehended two touts with a significant hoard of tickets on 12.03.2015 at Munirka, New Delhi and Karkardooma, Delhi on 13.3.2015.
Northern Railway reiterates its appeal to general public to refrain from purchase of rail tickets from unauthorised agencies and touts.Unauthorized buying and selling of reserved tickets is an offence under Section 143 of the Railways Act. Passengers who buy tickets from unauthorized travel agents may lose both their tickets and the reserved accommodation, if such tickets are confiscated during raids.
