Prime Minister to inaugurate Koderma-Hazaribagh Railway Line tomorrow

Hazaribagh Road (HZD): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Hazaribagh-Koderma train tomorrow, official sources said. The sources here said that Mr Modi would reach the Bhagwan Birsa Munda International Airport at Ranchi at 1500 hrs from where he would leave for Hazaribagh by a special helicopter and reach the venue at 1535 hrs. After reaching the venue, he will dedicate to the nation a new railway line between Koderma and Hazraibagh and flag off the DMU services between the two stations. On his return, Mr Modi would leave for Ranchi at 1645 hrs. Later, he will leave for New Delhi at 1720 hrs. Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmad, Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Union Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha, Union Minister of State for Finance and Hazaribagh MP Jayant Sinha are expected to grace the occasion. In the wake of high-profile visit, security arrangements have been strengthened around the venue and also in the city. About half a dozen IPS officials have been pressed into service while the SPG team has already taken over the security arrangements at the venue and the railway station. This would be the first visit of Mr Modi after the BJP government came into power in the state. He was scheduled to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Raghubar Das but bad weather prevented his flight from taking off from New Delhi. The ambitious 79.7 km railway line has seven railway stations and two railway halts. While a total of 14 big bridges, 105 small bridges and RUB along with 30 ROBs have been constructed on the stretch. The stations includes Pipradih, Urwan, Barhi, Padma, Kurhadaga, Kathautia, Katkansandi, Kansar Nawada and Hazaribagh. The line also crosses the famous Hazaribagh National Park that is home to several wild animals and reptiles. The dream project of ex-local MP and former Union External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha was launched in the year 2004. The project, began at an estimated cost of Rs 332 crore, but shot upto Rs 940 crore by the time of completion
