IMPROVEMENT & UPGRADATION OF SUBURBAN SYSTEM ON CENTRAL RAILWAY

In its continuous efforts to provide additional amenities at suburban stations o­n Central Railway during the month of December 2014, the Train Indicator Boards at Airoli station have been provided in Tri-lingual Graphical Display Boards (i.e. information in Marathi, Hindi and English) in place of Bi-lingual Train Indicator Boards. Also 2 Nos. of double face Tri-lingual Graphical Pilot Indicator Display Boards have been installed at Vidyavihar station. In addition 33 Nos. of GPS clocks have been commissioned at various stations of Central Railway. 

To improve the reliability of track during the month of December 2014, 20 Track Sections which are prone to water logging / flooding / critical locations have been protected with Digital Axle Counters at Airoli and Titwala - Khadavali section of Mumbai Suburban area. In all 686 Track Sections have been protected during the year.

Under the safety enhancement work during Dec. 2014, the replacement of signalling & power equipment controlling 14 Automatic Signals o­n all four lines in Sion - Kurla - Vidyavihar section of Mumbai Suburban have been completed & commissioned at Kurla as a separate installation as a Phase-I of the work of Replacement of Kurla Route Relay Interlocking.
