SOUTHERN RAILWAY OBSERVES VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
Vigilance Awareness Week 2014 is being observed from 27.10.2014 to 01.11.2014 over Southern Railway.
In Southern Railway, the vigilance awareness week commenced with the administration of the Vigilance Pledge. The theme for this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week is ‘Combating Corruption – Technology as an enabler’ as advised by the Central Vigilance Commission.
The focus during Vigilance Awareness Week, as stressed by CVC, is leveraging of technology in functioning of Government and its organizations to enhance accountability, transparency and efficiency in the service delivery system to common man. The use of Information Technology can make the process faster and reduce the scope of corruption.
The Vighilance Awareness Week 2014 was inaugurated in Southern Railway on 27.10.2014 in which the PHODs/HODs of all departments participated.Shri R. Mukundan, Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer welcomed the gathering.
The meeting was chaired by Shri Rakesh Misra, General Manager, Southern Railway. The Vigilance Bulletin 2014 was released by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Shri Naresh Gupta, Administrative Member, Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai.
Guest lecture was delivered by Hon’ble Shri Naresh Gupta who shared his experience in Government Service. He also stressed the need on using Information Technology for better service to the country.
Various steps to be initiated by all Departments / Divisions etc. in this regard were highlighted during the inauguration of Vigilance Awareness Week 2014.
In addition, various seminars, essay competitions, workshops, debates, skits are being organised in Southern Railway at all Divisions, Zonal Training Schools, Railway Schools, etc. on vigilance awareness.
