Fire Incident on Nanded-Manmad Passenger Near Aurangabad; No Injuries or Casualties
At around 01:45 am on 26th October, 2014, fire was noticed in a General Coach (ninth from Train Engine) of the Train No.57542 Nanded-Manmad Passenger Train while on run between Aurangabad and Daulatabad Stations, (in Aurangabad District) in Parbhani-Manmad Section in Nanded Division of South Central Railway. The train was immediately stopped by the Crew. The passengers were alerted and safely cleared out of the Coach. The affected coach was detached and isolated from other coaches. The passengers in the affected coach were adjusted in the other coaches.
Medical Relief Vans from Purna and Bhusawal have been rushed to the spot. However, in the meanwhile, fire brigades from Aurangabad were rushed to the location and the fire was put out by 03:10 am,. No casualty or injury to any of the passengers was reported in this incident.
Senior railway officials from Aurangabad immediately reached the spot to undertake relief / restoration works. The Divisional Railway Manager, Nanded Division, accompanied by senior Divisional officers have also rushed by a special train from Nanded to the spot.
The front portion of the Passenger train was cleared to Daulatabad at 03:35 am and the rear portion was moved to Aurangabad at 04:00 am. The affected Coach was also cleared from the Section to Daulatabad at 05:48 am after which, the train services were restored on this route. Detailed investigations are being carried out into this incident by senior officials to ascertain the cause of the incident.
