Holder Secunderabad Division Retains the SCR Inter-Divisional Kabaddi Trophy
Secunderabad Division of SCR emerged the winner at the SCR Inter-Divisional Kabaddi Tournament held at Railway Sports Complex Grounds, conducted under the aegis of SCR Sports Association today (5thSep. 2014) to retain the Rolling Trophy.In a tough fight againstVijayawada Division in the final match, Secunderabad Division triumphed with a comfortable of score 32-22. Nanded Division, in its match against Hyderabad Division secured the third place with score 38-26.
Shri Srihari, Principal Chief Engineer, SCR gave away the winners Trophy to the Secunderabad Team. While addressing the players, Shri Srihari informed that national Kabaddi team will be formed out of the best players of this tournament to participate in the All India Railway Kabaddi Tournament in October, 2014.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, Senior Deputy General Manager & President, SCR Sports Association stated that three women Kabaddi players from SCR Viz. Tejaswini, Mamatha and Kavitha have been selected for National Kabaddi Team to participate in the Asian Games at South Korea to be held in this month. Neeta Dadwe from SCR has been selected as the Coach of the Team, he added.
On the occasion, Shri Ramani Krishnamurthi and Shri Narsinga Rao, veteran Kabaddi players of SCR were felicitated on the eve of their superannuation.
