CLEANLINESS CAMPAIGN - 2.10.2014

Central Railway will launch cleanliness drive as a part of nationwide cleanliness campaign beginning from 2.10.2014.

Officers have been nominated at Divisional and Zonal headquarters covering 44 D Class stations and 203 E Class stations.  These stations have been provided with additional imprest of Rs.2000/- each. 

22 senior level officers have been nominated in 2 shifts to monitor 11 major stations such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Dadar, Kurla, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Ghatkopar, Thane, Dombivali, Kalyan, Panvel, Igatpuri and Lonavala.

106 other officers have been nominated in 2 shifts to monitor 69 other suburban stations on Mumbai Division. Besides 6 personnel officers, 6 Engineering Officers and 6 Health Inspectors have been nominated to monitor cleanliness drive at Railway Colonies. Also in other divisions of Central Railway the officers nominated are Bhusaval-33, Solapur-26, Nagpur-19 and Pune-25 

60 mechanised cleaning contracts, 61 rag picking contracts and 69 garbage disposal contracts are already in place at various classes of stations.

Ticket Collectors have been advised to monitor and impose fine on those found littering the stations.

Railway Protection Force personnel have been asked to intensify checks to nab unauthorized vendors and unauthorized persons in station premises.

Skit plays by school children, scouts and guides, display of banners on "Cleanliness" have been organized during the drive. 

Web banner - about cleanliness is already uploaded o­n home page of Central Railway public website. Publicity through CCTV, public address system, news items is also being undertaken.
