Landslide hits rail traffic between Mysore and Mangalore
Sakleshpur (SKLR): The rail link between Mysore and Mangalore was cut off due to a landslide between Yedakumari and Shrivagilu stations on the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road section.
The Yeshwantpur-Kannur-Karwar Express was stopped at Sakleshpur and passengers were sent to their destinations on special KSRTC buses.
The Kannur-Karwar-Yeshwantpur trains were cancelled at their starting points as work on clearing the track is still in progress.
An official said the railway staff who came to know about the landslide on Friday night stopped the train at Sakleshpur station and prevented a possible mishap.
