NORTHERN RAILWAY INTRODUCES AIR CONDITIONED SUPERFAST “SHREE SHAKTI EXPRESS” TO RUN BETWEEN NEW DELHI AND SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI KATRA
For the convenience of passengers desirous to travel between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra stations, Northern Railway has decided to introduce a daily service of an Air conditioned superfast train no. 22461/22462 from 14-07-2014 from both the directions. This train service has been named “Shri Shakti Express” by hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
The path and schedule of 22461/22462 ‘Shri Shakti Express’ will be as under:-
The 22461 New Delhi- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra AC Superfast Express :
The 22461 Shri Shakti Express will depart from New Delhi at 5:30 pm daily to arrive at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 5:10 am the next day. Its maiden run will start from New Delhi on 14-07-2014.
The 22462 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi AC Superfast Express:
The 22462 Shri Shakti Express will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 10:55 pm daily to reach New Delhiat 10:45 am the next day. Its maiden run will also start on 14/7/2014 from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway station.
Consisting of one first AC , five AC two tier and nine AC three tier coaches, the’ Shri Shakti Express’ will stop at Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot cantt , Jammu Tawi and Udhampur Stations enroute in both directions.
Prior to the introduction of ‘Shri Shakti Express’, Northern Railway has already extended the run of the three DEMU trains viz a viz the 74909, 74905 and 74907 Pathankot-Jammu Tawi DEMUs up to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station with effect from 04-07-2014.
Hence its pairing services i.e. the 74909/74910, 74905/74908 and 74907/74906 DEMU trains have thus been provided stoppages at Udhampur and Chak Rakhwal Stations on extended portions in both the directions already from 04-07-2014 to serve the passengers.
