MORE PASSENGER AMENITIES PLANNED FOR SEALDAH STATION

“Jan Ahar” restaurant required to be relocated at ground floor to have the access of more passengers to avail the opportunity. Proper cold drinking water to be made available for the passengers particularly during the summer time which should be taken as a priority item. The present signages available are to be changed with the more prominent signages to attract the attention of the passengers. Ticket checking drives will be strengthened to stop loss of railway revenue.  Proper arrangements for maintaining queue at ticket counters will be done for the convenience of the passengers. Light illuminations for platforms and adjacent area will be improved further – Shri Gupta advised.

He had held meetings with the Divisional Railway Manager and other Branch Officers for ensuring proper amenities for the passengers over Sealdah Division. Security is one of the most important area which need to be strengthened further. He advised the Divisional Officers and all concerned to initiate necessary steps immediately in the interest of the passengers. Shri Gupta made it clear to the Divisional Officers and all concerned that in the field of passenger amenities, safety and security, no compromise will be tolerated.
