High level Nepal delegation meets Eastern Railway officials
Kolkata (KOAA): A high level delegation headed by Narayan Gopal Malego, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Supplies, Govt. of Nepal visited Eastern Railway head quarters at Fairlie Place on Monday seeking better co-ordination between the Nepal government and Indian Railways.
The delegates who had informal discussions with Eastern Railway’s general manager, R K Gupta, and other principal officers sought co-operation from Railways for easy movement of traffic operation between the two countries via Raxaul and Birganj for mutual interest of both the countries.
The Nepalese team was represented by the country’s Consul General Chandra Kumar Ghimire, Jib Raj Koirala, Joint Secretary, Madhusudan Pokhare, Joint Secretary, Surendra Thapa, Deputy Consul General, Arjun Khadka, Under Secretary, Tara Sapkota, under Secretary, Moti Bahadur Shrees and Proffesor Nisha Tanuja from the World Bank.
Eastern Railway officials made a small presentation highlighting activities of the zonal railway for better appreciation and understanding on its working.
On behalf of the Nepal delegation, Mr Malego and Mr Chandra Kumar Ghimire appreciated the development and achievements of Eastern Railway and requested for better co-ordination and understanding between the Government of Nepal with Indian Railways.
