Flooded tracks disrupt train movement in south Gujarat
Vadodara: Heavy rains in south Gujarat on Tuesday hit rail traffic movement on Mumbai route adversely impacting travel plans of commuters from central Gujarat.
While two trains – Valsad-Dahod and Valsad-Viramgam – got cancelled, several trains were running late on Tuesday.
Although many trains had left Vadodara railway station on time, waterlogging on railway track at Valsad delayed the trains from reaching Mumbai.
Monday’s incident of derailment of some wagons of a goods train near Nadiad had also impacted the timings of some trains which reached late at Vadodara station.
The trains running late included Secunderabad-Rajkot Express, Gujarat Express – both of which were running one and a half hour late while Vivek Express was running late by two and a half hours. Firozpur-Janta Express was running late by fifty minutes.
Sayajinagari Express had arrived half an hour late at Vadodara railway station while Kutch Express, which had arrived late at Vadodara railway station by nearly 80 minutes, reached Mumbai after four hours delay.
Although Jaipur Bandra Express had arrived only five minutes late at Vadodara railway station, it was late by around four hours while on its way to Mumbai.
Saurashtra Mail was half an hour late at Vadodara railway station and was running two and half hours late.
The Valsad-Haridwar Express was re-scheduled. Instead of its scheduled time, it was re-scheduled with six hours delay.
