Feeder buses from more metro stations
The Delhi Government’s Transport Department has procured 24 metro feeder buses that will operate from three more metro stations. Officials said the 27-seater buses will start operations soon.
“Two dozen buses have arrived. The Transport Department has issued permits for these buses and they will serve on the four new routes cleared by the authorities,” said Special Commissioner (Transport) Kuldeep Singh Gangar.
The Department has plans to add 400 more feeder buses to the existing fleet of 117, which provide last mile connectivity on 16 routes from different metro stations.
“The department has been sanctioned Rs.6.04 crore for procuring 100 buses, out of which 24 buses have been obtained. The remaining 76 will arrive soon,” Mr. Gangar said.
While feeder buses will return to Vishwavidyalaya metro station and operate on two routes from there, the buses will also start running from Hauz Khas and Azadpur metro stations.
