62nd ALL INDIA RAILWAY TT CHAMPIONSHIP CONCLUDES

E. Prabhakaran of Southern Railway and TakemeSarkar of N. F. Railway won the Men’s and the Women’s Singles Titles respectively at the 62nd All India Railway TT Championship which concluded today. At the finals held in the N. F. Railway Sports Association Indoor Stadium at Maligaon, E. Prabhakaran beat Anirban Nandi of South Eastern Railway 11-7,8-11,11-7,12-10,8-11 & 12-10 to clinch Men’s title while Takeme Sarkar beat Rupsa Bhattacharyya ofMetro Railway 11-8,11-9,7-11,7-11,3-11,11-8 & 11-7 for the Women’s titles.

Earlier, the Western Railway and the South Eastern Railway teams had won the Men’sandWomen’s titles respectively in the team events which concluded o­n 23rd July.

Shri R. S. Virdi, General Manager, N.F.Railway was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony and gave away the prizes to the winners.
